The Aerospace Coating Application Specialist Certification Program is designed to certify those individual craft workers who have experience and training in all aspects of hands-on surface preparation and coating application to surfaces of aircraft structures, according to the requirements of the Aerospace Coating Application Specialist (ACAS) Program. Facility owners, contractors, and certifying agencies may use this program for certification of application specialists for other substrates or conditions, as considered appropriate. Prerequisite Successful completion of Aerospace Maintainer Coating Application Training (AERO MAIN); 2 years (minimum 2,000 hours) experience working in the aerospace industry; Pass the ACAS hands-on exam with 90% or greater; ACAS Prerequisite Form must be submitted no later than two weeks before the scheduled course.
