This comprehensive training is designed to equip aspiring machine operators with the necessary skills and competencies to excel in the manufacturing industry. The course covers a wide range of topics, including safety and regulatory knowledge, measurement and inspection techniques, mathematical and conversion skills, technical and machine operation skills, programming and equipment maintenance, quality control and documentation, blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge, troubleshooting and machine care, and workflow efficiency and teamwork. The course structure begins with an introduction to machine operations, followed by modules on workplace safety, basic mathematics and conversions, reading machine blueprints & Geometric Distancing and Tolerancing (GDT), importance of quality control, programming and operating machinery, machine care and equipment maintenance, and maximizing workflow efficiency and teamwork. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify and explain basic safety requirements and standards, read and interpret measurements using various tools, operate CNC machines to produce parts within specified tolerances, perform preventive maintenance on equipment, complete proper quality documentation, demonstrate a basic understanding of blueprints and GD&T, troubleshoot operational and quality issues, maintain machines in compliance with operational and safety guidelines, follow instruction cards and perform job tasks at various workstations efficiently, and recognize various metals and measurements used in machining processes. This course will prepare students to become proficient machinists, ready to tackle the demands of the manufacturing industry.
